Last updated: March 4, 2026
Nicole's Positions on Key Issues
Economy
HighCongresswoman Nicole Malliotakis supports tax relief for working Americans, middle-class families, and senior citizens, viewing it as essential for them to retain their earnings. She is committed to lowering costs and strengthening the economy to fuel job creation and sustained growth. Malliotakis applauded the House passage of the bipartisan Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026, which included reforms she advocated for to rein in pharmacy benefit managers and lower prescription drug costs.
““Today, President Donald Trump outlined the clear progress our nation has made this past year. Together, we delivered historic tax relief for working Americans, middle-class families and senior citizens, helping them keep more of their hard-earned money as they begin filing their taxes. With our border secure, less crime in our cities, lower mortgage rates, less inflation, cheaper gas prices, a GDP that’s growing, domestic manufacturing that’s returning, and trillions of dollars in private and foreign investment strengthening our economy, we are fueling job creation, restoring confidence, and putting our nation back on a path of sustained growth. [...] We are undoing the mess created by the Biden Administration and getting our country back on track, and I remain committed to working with the President and my colleagues to continue lowering costs, strengthening public safety, and building on this momentum that’s delivering real results for the American people.” - Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, in a statement after President Trump’s State of the Union, February 24, 2026.”
Immigration
LowCongresswoman Nicole Malliotakis introduced legislation with Congressman John Carter to prevent migrants from being housed on U.S. military bases. This bill would prohibit the use of federal funds for such shelter, introduced in response to requests from governors to house migrants on military installations.
Healthcare
HighRepresentative Nicole Malliotakis voted against extending subsidies for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), citing concerns over rampant fraud and abuse within the program. She co-led the Bipartisan Health Insurance Affordability Act to extend premium tax credits through 2027 and reduce fraudulent practices. Malliotakis also voted "Yea" on H.R. 6703, the "Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act," aiming to reform the system and reduce healthcare premium costs.
““I join my colleagues to introduce the Bipartisan Health Insurance Affordability Act to protect nearly 80,000 individuals in my district who rely on Affordable Care Act plans from steep premium increases when the temporary premium tax credit subsidy expires at the end of this year,” said Rep. Nicole Malliotakis. “The Affordable Care Act signed into law by President Obama is simply not affordable as premiums have skyrocketed while insurance companies made record profits. Our bipartisan legislation is a balanced, centrist approach to protecting our constituents from steep premium hikes, making Health Savings Accounts more versatile, reducing “Obamacare” fraud and cracking down on insurance companies, insurance brokers, and predatory “Middlemen” Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).” - Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, Statement on Bipartisan Healthcare Legislation, 2026”
Climate & Energy
MediumNicole Malliotakis voted "Yea" on the Homeowner Energy Freedom Act (H.R.4758) and the Don’t Mess With My Home Appliances Act (H.R.4626) in February 2026. She also voted against the Reliable Power Act in 2026. The League of Conservation Voters gave her a 9% score in 2025 and a 7% lifetime score, reflecting a voting record that generally opposes environmental policies.
Abortion & Reproductive Rights
LowNicole Malliotakis identifies as pro-life regarding abortion and reproductive rights. She voted against allowing late-term abortions in January 2019, reflecting her opposition to such procedures. A PVS survey in September 2020 also confirmed her pro-life position.
Foreign Policy
HighCongresswoman Nicole Malliotakis supports U.S. military action against Iran to defend American citizens, interests, and partners, citing Iran's refusal to negotiate diplomacy over nuclear capabilities and its responsibility for attacks. She also supported the Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022, which provided $40 billion in aid to Ukraine. Additionally, she supported the CHIPS and Science Act to strengthen U.S. capacity in strategically important sectors and manage U.S.-China competition.
“The United States has taken decisive and courageous action against Iran to defend our citizens, interests, and partners after the leading state sponsor of terrorism would not negotiate in good faith or commit to diplomacy over nuclear capabilities. Iran is responsible for attacks that have killed American civilians and service members and its continuous declarations of “Death to America” while pursuing advanced nuclear capabilities threaten the United States and our allies." - Nicole Malliotakis, malliotakis.house.gov”
Education
MediumRepresentative Nicole Malliotakis supports education initiatives, including her annual President's Day Essay Contest for elementary students. In July 2025, she introduced a bill, which advanced from the House Committee on Ways and Means, to fine tax-exempt schools grappling with anti-semitic protests. She also actively advocates for special education, releasing a statement in December 2024 on NYCPS IESP guidelines and rallying in October 2024 to restore services in NYC non-public schools.
Gun Policy
HighNicole Malliotakis supported several gun control measures, including the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) Reform Act and the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act of 2025. She also voted for four Democratic gun-control bills in 2021, citing her commitment to providing resources for local law enforcement to ensure public safety. However, she voted against the comprehensive “Protecting Our Kids Act” package. Her gun policy stance seeks a balance between differing viewpoints.
““I represent New York City and I’ve always pledged to work with my local law enforcement and to give them the resources to do their job to keep us safe,” Nicole Malliotakis, as told to The Post (date not specified in research).”
