Immigration
HighRepresentative Greg Steube introduced the EXILE Act to end the H-1B visa program, citing concerns that it displaces American workers and undermines national interests. He also supports the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which requires proof of U.S. citizenship for federal voter registration. Steube emphasized the importance of this legislation for protecting electoral integrity and prioritizing American jobs.
“Prioritizing foreign labor over the well-being and prosperity of American citizens undermines our values and national interests,” said Rep. Steube. “Our workers and young people continue to be displaced and disenfranchised by the H-1B visa program that awards corporations and foreign competitors at the expense of our workforce. We cannot preserve the American dream for our children while forfeiting their share to non-citizens. That is why I am introducing the EXILE Act to put working Americans first again.” (Rep. Greg Steube, Press Release, "Rep. Steube Introduces EXILE Act")”
Healthcare
HighGreg Steube has introduced legislation aimed at expanding healthcare access and reducing costs through specific reforms. He co-introduced the HEALTH Act, providing tax deductions for physicians offering charity care to CHIP and Medicaid patients to expand access for families. He also reintroduced the ACCESS Act, promoting tax-free health savings accounts for patient control and affordable treatments. Additionally, Steube introduced the CLEAN Act to bar sex offenders from receiving federally funded Medicaid and ACA tax credits, citing that taxpayer money should not cover expenses for serial abusers.
““Sex offenders have no business tapping into programs intended for lower-income and disadvantaged Americans,” said Rep. Steube.“Taxpayers have the right to know their hard-earned money is not being used to cover the medical expenses of serial abusers and criminals. Rapists and abusers have no business receiving federal benefits. My bill will protect Medicaid and ACA assistance for law-abiding Americans by barring sex offenders from accessing these programs.” (Rep. Steube, from press release "Rep. Steube: No ACA or Medicaid for Sex Offenders," February 10, 2026)”
Climate & Energy
HighGreg Steube voted against the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act in 2026, and voted for the Don't Mess With My Home Appliances Act and the Homeowner Energy Freedom Act. He stated that environmental conservation should avoid expanding federal bureaucracy, creating burdensome regulations, or costing American jobs, while prioritizing clean water and a healthy environment. The League of Conservation Voters gave him a 0% score in 2024 and a 1% lifetime score.
“Our responsibility to conserve our environment can be achieved without creating policies that expand the federal bureaucracy, create burdensome regulations, or cost American jobs. Clean water and a healthy environment for the Suncoast must always be a top priority. – Greg Steube, from his official website's "Environment & Water Quality" section.”
Abortion & Reproductive Rights
HighCongressman Greg Steube is a staunch defender of the right to life, citing his Christian faith and belief that life begins at conception. He co-sponsored the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and reintroduced The Women’s Protection in Telehealth Act to prohibit Medicare from funding abortion services via telehealth. Steube also supports the Hyde Amendment and opposes federal efforts to facilitate abortions for Department of Defense personnel.
“As a Christian, I am strongly pro-Life. (Nov 2019)”
Foreign Policy
HighRepresentative Greg Steube has introduced amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2026, advocating for military pay raises and ensuring troops have necessary resources. He also opposes the implementation of DEI and COVID vaccine mandates within the military, believing in strong forces to counter global threats. Steube introduced the CHARGE Act to prohibit importing energy storage systems with remote monitoring from Chinese entities and opposes using Pentagon funding for abortion-related expenses.
“As a U.S. Army veteran, I remain a committed advocate for the men and women serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Congress must enact laws that ensure our troops have what they need to train, fight, and succeed. I voted for pay increases for our troops. I remain concerned by military recruitment challenges and believe that we need to do more to ensure we have full and strong forces prepared to counter global threats as needed. I’ve fought against indoctrination of progressive ideologies and the implementation of DEI within the military, including COVID vaccine mandates on our active duty servicemembers and Cadets/Midshipmen at our nation’s military academies. I oppose any use of Pentagon funding for abortion-related expenses. — Greg Steube, in a press release on his official website (steube.house.gov), September 10, 2025.”
Education
HighRepresentative Greg Steube supports abolishing the Department of Education, believing education should be managed by state and local governments while retaining popular programs such as Pell Grants. He states that the country will not be an international leader if its government leaves its children behind. He also introduced the Guaranteeing Religious Accommodation in Childhood Education (GRACE) Act and the Protection of College Sports Act. His Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act passed the U.S. House.
“Congress has to come behind President Trump and back him up on this 100%,” Rep. Greg Steube told Newsmax. “I’ve been on bills for the last three or four congresses that would do away with the Department of Education, but Congress has to act, and we can do that through the reconciliation bill.””
Gun Policy
HighGreg Steube voted in favor of H.Res. 1042, which provides for consideration of a bill to modernize federal firearms laws. He opposes red flag laws, asserting that they unconstitutionally strip law-abiding citizens of their firearms. He has stated he will not support legislation that infringes on Second Amendment rights, explaining that such proposals are unconstitutional power grabs.
““Red flag laws do nothing to prevent crime, and implementing them unconstitutionally strips law-abiding citizens of their firearms. I will never support any legislation that enables the government to trample on our Second Amendment rights.” — Representative Greg Steube, Press Release, March 11, 2021”
