Immigration

High

Eric Crawford supports immigration reform focused on border security and opposes amnesty. He stated he would only support measures that secure the border first, prevent amnesty, and prioritize American employment. He voted Nay on the District of Columbia Federal Immigration Compliance Act of 2025 and is stated to have voted against the SAVE Act in 2025. He prefers a piecemeal approach to immigration reform that undergoes public scrutiny and debate.

“The issue of immigration reform is too important not to get this right, the first time. Thirty years ago, a comprehensive immigration reform package was pushed through Congress with promises of border security that were never enacted – and look where we are today. Arkansas needs a working immigration system to provide a consistent labor force that supports job creation and growth in our state. No matter what kind of bill ultimately makes it to the floor of the House for a vote, I will only support a measure that secures the border first, prevents amnesty, and puts Americans back to work.” — Congressman Rick Crawford (R-AR), statement on House Republican Conference Immigration Strategy Meeting, crawford.house.gov

Healthcare

High

Eric Crawford voted in favor of H.R. 6703, the "Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act," aiming to increase competition and reduce costs. He supports repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), citing its role in increasing premiums and restricting access. Crawford advocates for patient-centered healthcare, emphasizing individual choice, expansion of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), and allowing insurance companies to sell plans across state lines. He aims to implement market-based reforms for affordability and accessibility.

“The Affordable Care Act was jammed down the throats of Americans by President Obama and Congressional Democrats and has proven to be anything but affordable. Since its passage, health insurance premiums have INCREASED by 80%. I have and will always support affordable health care options for American families, but this can be done without ballooning the national debt and allowing opportunities for rampant fraud. The ACA’s enhanced tax credits were always intended to be temporary during COVID, as evidenced by the fact that Democrats chose to sunset the subsidies after four years. Here we are years later, and Democrats expect Republicans to help them cover up how unaffordable the ACA has become for the American people. Republicans have put forward promising solutions to clean up the disastrous mess Democrats have made of our healthcare system. For one example, Republicans took bold action last year when we passed the Working Families Tax Cut Act and established the Rural Health Transformation Program to increase access, modernize care, and strengthen the health care workforce in our rural communities. It was announced late last year that CMS will award Arkansas $208,779,396 in health care grants as part of this program. This will be pivotal for Arkansas’ rural communities. I am grateful for the leadership of President Trump and CMS Administrator Dr. Oz to make health care more affordable and accessible for American families in our nation’s heartland.” — Rep. Crawford, from a statement on his vote against extending COVID-era ACA subsidies, published on crawford.house.gov
